Todd's Table Coordinator

The Todd’s Table (TT) Coordinator is responsible for the administrative and operational needs of TT as well as the outreach and engagement efforts of Beatitude Gardens.  While managing behind the scenes operations, the coordinator serves as the public face of TT -- engaging customers, vendors, and area partners to ensure connection, collaboration, and social impact.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist Garden Coordinator with produce distribution to TT open market days and other food relief organizations when possible

  • Collaborate with Garden Coordinator and Program Director for promotional and engagement strategies for TT and Beatitude Gardens, including but not limited to open market days, events, volunteer opportunities, customer services,  

  • Recruit and coordinate with Todd area growers and producers to vend products at TT

  • Manage open market days, including opening/closing, transactions, and customer/vendor relations

  • Manage advertising and marketing plan including postal mailings, road signage, social media, email, and website

  • Produce promotional materials like flyers, handouts, signage, direct postal mailings

  • Square POS recordkeeping and accounting, managing payments to vendors

  • Coordinate TT’s presence at special events like New River Festival, Elk Knob Heritage Festival, and more

  • Collaborate with BCO staff to ensure web materials are up to date

 

Skills required

  • Strong public and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills  

  • Knowledge of organic agriculture, farmers markets, and local food systems, particularly related to Appalachia/rural NC and faith-based food initiatives 

  • Use of Word, Publisher, and Excel 

  • Operating Square POS (Point of Sale) system

  • Opening and closing a register

 

Credentials

  • HS diploma, four year degree with experience in sustainable development and/or community development preferred 

  • Background in organizational leadership and social entrepreneurship preferred

  • Experience in a farmer’s market environment preferred



Hours and pay

10 hours/week, $12/hr with a possible slight increase in hours as the season picks up. The season should run from the last week in May through September.
